KMUAN #006: strange dream last night

Good evening everyone!

Haven’t posted in a good minute. Let’s talk.

So I had a strange dream last night and spent most of today too occupied to thinking about it. Let’s unpack it together.

A little background — sleep has been rough for me lately. Going to bed after midnight is already a bad habit. I’ve been yawning all afternoon, taking walks, and drinking caffeine have been the norm to get through workdays.

And here I am at night sitting in my beanbag chair. Wide awake but not willing to do much. Midnight, then 2 a.m. creeps up. And then I scramble to go to bed.

Then I toss & turn. Scroll on my phone. Toss and turn. Finally fall asleep only to here the birds begin chirping. This experience has been so rude to me.

Recently I’ve become tired enough where I fall asleep better, I don’t write down my dreams anymore let alone remember them, but this dream was a little bizarre.

To start I was certain if my eyes were actually closed when the dream began. Weird shapes and colors moving before my eyes, but I can still see the outline of the pillow next to me. It’s like an image projecting on a round surface — but the projector is inside my head

My eyes closed and my body decides to sleep. But I “feel” movement. I sleep with a body pillow to aid lower back discomfort. And it felt like I was spinning around while clinging to it.

Then I felt the physical sensation of something grip my waist. They weren’t hands. Like claws trying to grip a toy.

Later in the night I woke up, a little shocked at what I experienced. Then I tried sleeping hoping I could think of something to dream of.

Instead it was the same pattern of events — seeing  projected images rotating “in” my eyes. Falling asleep to darkness. Feeling myself “rotating” on the pillow I clung to.

2nd time around, I find myself in the dream lying on my back. One split-second I’m on my bed like IRL, then it flips to a sterile room with bright fluorescent lights. Maybe a hospital? Facility?

I’m looking at a robot. Triangular head with a triangular screen as their “eyes.” they have two arms with these crab-like appendages. Their parts are new, but analog in style. Like the future people in the 50’s imagined meets early Miscrosoft computer.

They’re gripping me around the torso with these claws. And it kind of hurts. I can feel the squeeze on my love handles & ribs.

I reach up and grab onto their shoulders joints. They tilt their head away to avoid my grasp.

After a part I can’t remember, I broke free from their grasp. Now I’m standing and they’re seated on a green upholstered seat for patients. I’m staring into the screen in the upper part of their triangular head.

A person’s face is projected onto their screen in a blue background. She has an emo rawr haircut — platinum blonde dyed hair, and black dye towards the ends mimicking either a zebra or a leopard pattern. Dark rings of smudged eyeliner.

It seems like just a photo of her, but I think she was moving. Like it was a live feed of her. Maybe she’s controlling the robot remotely?

That’s where the dream ends. And that’s all I remembered since this morning.

Searching “dream meaning of robot grabs me” and “dream meaning robot attacks me” was interesting. What was I supposed to search for?!

Also, that was uncannily realistic for it to have been a dream. I could feel the robot gripping me tightly and myself spinning around. What if I saw what Neo from the Matrix saw when [MAJOR SPOILER] he woke up strapped into the machine?

Earlier this week I thought about watching the Matrix series on my day off. Didn’t wind up doing that at all. But it’s an interesting coincidence. I’ve seen the movies on TV, but it’s so confusing to follow. I never see the conclusion of the saga anyways.

What if I really did see a glimpse outside the reality where I’m a human being manhandled by a robot?! He seemed irritated that I was conscious enough to fight him.

I’ll sketch what the robot looked like to me and uploaded it to this post later.

Anyways, I hope you’ve been drinking water, taking care of yourself. Stuff like that. You deserve to feel well.

Good night, sleepers!
